#ShareYourSummer- Camping

Camping is a great way to create lasting summer memories with the family for relatively little spend.

If you live in a busy suburban area it can be quite rewarding to pack the kids and drive away from the hustle and bustle for a weekend. We’re lucky in Canada to still have lots of wide open spaces that allow us to do so.

It can be a bit challenging to keep little ones entertained while you’re unplugged from the rest of the world. Luckily, however, we also live in a world of Pinterest! There are all sorts of fun activities you can plan ahead. We found this great list of 10 Fun Camping Games for Kids by Real Family Time. We love the idea of a scavenger hunt.

All that exploring is bound to work up an appetite! When it comes to mealtime out in the wilderness, we’ve got you covered. We make many products that are synonymous with camping. Nothing says camping like a Smokie roasted over the campfire on a stick or eggs and sausage in a cast iron first thing in the morning.

If you’re looking for something a little more gourmet there are plenty of recipes you can make ahead and bring along in the cooler.  One of our favourites to bring along is foil packs, you can chop all your meat and veggies at home, pack in foil and toss right on the fire! So easy!  When bringing food into the wilderness make sure to always store the food safely away from wildlife and take with you any garbage from the packaging.

What is your favourite camping food?
Do you love waking up with the birds and making coffee bacon and eggs in the morning or do you prefer cooking Smores over the glow of the campfire?
