Season End and Grimm’s Volunteer of the Year Recipient
This Summer was a beautiful one to be out at the ball field. The Surrey North Delta Fun Ball Tournament had another successful year bringing people together for fun and a little friendly competition. The score is not kept during the tournament so it truly remains fun for everyone. Saturday, August 23rd was the wrap up for the season and time to present the Grimm’s Volunteer of the Year Award to the seasons most dedicated volunteer. A wonderful handmade trophy is presented in honour of our late Grimm’s employee Maureen Chadwick, to whom the tournament was very dear. This year the league honoured Don Juvelin who has been part of the action for almost 30 years. Don no longer plays on the field with his team, The Brewjays, but is always there to help out behind the scenes in every way possible. Together Grimm’s Fine Foods and The Surrey North Delta Fun Ball Tournament were happy to present Don with the trophy along with a gift basket filled with a variety of our favourite Grimm’s products such as Beef Jerky, Pepperoni and Sliced Meats. Maureen’s husband Dave was there to present Don with the award in Maureen’s honour. Grimm’s would like to thank the league for continuing to keep us close to their hearts.
Season Opener BBQ
The Surrey/ North Delta Fun Ball Tournament is a special Grimm’s sponsored event. The tournament was close to the heart of one of our late, dedicated associates, Maureen – who was part of the Grimm’s family for many years. This year the tournament kicked off on June 21, the first official day of summer. The weather was gorgeous and the activities and the company were in good spirits. Grimm’s was there to make sure everyone had great food for a great day. The tournament will continue throughout the summer months and come to a close at the end of August. At the end of the tournament, a Grimm’s Volunteer of the Year award is given to the season’s most devoted volunteer, in honour of Maureen. Grimm’s is happy to help keep the memories and traditions going, and we look forward to revealing the recipient of this year’s award.
