Happy Canada Day everyone! Whether you’re using the BBQ at home or the hibachi in the park, our Smoked Gouda Bavarian Sausage Smokies are the perfect picnic item to enjoy with friends and family. Smoked Gouda Bavarian Smokie Dog
Ingredients:
- 4 Grimm’s Smoked Gouda Bavarian Smokies
- 4 pieces of Grimm’s Traditional Thick Sliced Bacon
- 4 gluten-free hot dog buns
- 4 oz (112 grams) gouda cheese, sliced
- 4 tbsp (60 mL) grainy mustard
- 4 tbsp (60 mL) relish
Preparation:
- Preheat the grill over medium-high heat.
- Add the smokie and bacon. Barbeque for 8 to 10 minutes, until sausage appears vibrant and full.
- While the smokies are cooking, prepare the hot dog bun by adding cheese, mustard, and relish.
- Remove the smokies and bacon from the barbeque. Transfer to a plate. Add one piece of bacon and one smokie to each hot dog.
- Add more toppings if desired.
Easy Potato Salad
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lb (680 grams) baby potatoes
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup (120 mL) mayonnaise
- 1 to 2 tbsp (15 to 30 mL) grainy mustard
- ½ tsp (2 mL) celery salt
- ½ tsp (2 mL) pepper
- ½ small red onion, diced (optional)
Preparation:
- Boil a pot of water. Add potatoes and cook for 15 minutes until a fork can easily pierce a potato. Drain potatoes with a colander. Set aside and allow time for potatoes to cool before mixing with other ingredients.
- Combine vinegar, mayonnaise, mustard, salt, pepper, and small red onion (if using).
- Add baby potatoes to the mixture, and toss them together.
Simple Salad With Honey Dijon Dressing
Ingredients:
- 11 oz (300 grams) mixed greens
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) avocado oil
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) honey
- 1 red pepper, sliced, stem and seeds removed
- ½ small red onion, diced (optional)
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) pumpkin seeds
Preparation:
- Place mixed greens in a salad bowl. Set aside.
- Prepare dressing. Whisk together mustard, oil, vinegar, and honey. Pour dressing into a small jar and set aside.
- Remove stem and seeds from red pepper. Slice to desired thickness.
- On the same cutting board, dice the red onion.
- Add the pepper, onion, and pumpkin seeds to mixed greens.
- Add salad dressing to your taste. Toss and serve.
